LIGHTING IDEAS
A useful lighting brief begins with your routines, not a shopping list of fixtures.
Homesa / Homeowner planning notes
Write down how you use the space at different times of day. Cooking, reading, relaxing and entertaining can call for different lighting experiences. Note the areas that feel dim, uncomfortable or disconnected from the rest of the room.
Collect a few reference images and explain what you like about each one. It might be a softly lit shelf, an uncluttered ceiling or a pendant over a table. A description of the atmosphere you want is often more useful than choosing every product in advance.
Consider which areas you would like to operate separately and where you naturally enter or leave the room. If you want dimming, mention it when discussing the project so the controls and proposed lights can be reviewed together.
Share the room layout, your priorities and whether painting or renovation work is planned. Ask what information is needed before a quote can be prepared. Keep electrical installation decisions for a professional assessment; this checklist is for planning, not DIY wiring.
